I am trying to setup a double zone furnace. I have the quartz rods for the double zone furnace and the glass tube caps for the same tube for the inlet and the outlet of the gases. But what is worrying me is the sealability of the caps with the tubes. I mean there is a possibility of leakage. What I would prefer is the metal flange like thing which can be connected to the Swagelok tube and fittings which is generally seen in the most CVD systems. Can someone please let me know the details of the suppliers of the same or which can custom made the flange as per the requirements.
Ultratorr fittings made by the Swagelok company provide a method of attaching a glass tube to metal tubing. They are available in a range of sizes and employ an O ring to seal to the glass tube. Ultratorr to Sagelok adapters are available. You need to ensure that the fitting does not get too hot of course to avoid damaging the O ring. As an example Swagelok part number SS-8-UT-6-400 adapts a 1/2 in. Ultra-Torr Fitting to 1/4 in. Tube OD.
