Hi im validating microstrip antenna with inset gap and microstrip feedline equations and i cannot find the correct source for the inset gap width which seems to have a variation of
g = c/(sqrt(2 x e_eff)) x ((4.65 x 10^-12) / f_center)
A few references using variation of this formula with the magic number 4.65 seem to be *wrong* when i plug it into Matlab, too large or too small, most refs cite Balanis Antenna Theory which cannot actually be found in Balanis
Mainly tried doing a search on google scholar for "4.65" "inset gap", cant seem to trace the actual source yet, hoping someone can illuminate the answer/source to me
