Where do the studies that applied mathematical models like SIR and SIERD fall in the hierarchy of evidence? what suitable data extraction tool to use?

I'm doing a systematic review on the effectiveness of an intervention, all the studies I find used a mathematical epidemiology (Predictive study), I couldn't figure out how to classify it? is is a cohort? and consequently, find it difficult to decide on what data extraction and quality appraisal tools to use?
