Investigating the effect of using X teaching method in teaching some Maths topics.

I am just a beginner to research in education. I drafted below my views and beliefs about researching the topic aforementioned. I am kindly asking your comments and suggestions.

I believe that the choice of method of instruction influences not only what students will learn and understand but also how they develop the value for subject they are learning. It means that it is the how students are taught that determines students’ construction of reality about mathematics and mathematics learning. In other words, the reality students may hold about mathematics, whether mathematics is abstract, difficult, useful, male dominant, etc, depends on what is being done to mathematics in the teaching of mathematics. For instance, a student who has often being exposed to challenges that his or her mathematics teacher displayed while teaching mathematics may develop the perception that mathematics is difficult even if the student may have the ability to do mathematics. Likewise, a student who has often worked hard and succeeded in mathematics may perceive that working hard is a key to learn mathematics. Therefore, I hold the view that although each student may develop different views about mathematics and mathematics learning as a result of what is being done to mathematics in schools, the usefulness or abstractness, the existence and nature of mathematical objects is independent of any one’s opinion or belief. It is the how students are taught that determines what they will understand and value, and hence the effects of the how students are taught on their mathematics learning can be studied and measured with some degree of uncertainty. Though impossible to directly observe how students understand mathematical concepts or procedures, measuring instruments can be developed to measure what they understand from what they manipulate with the mathematical objects they understood
