We will analyze the plasma trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO) in mice and several papers mentioned that the Plasma TMAO analysis was performed using stable isotope dilution tandem mass spectrometry on a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer. Can anyone suggest the service to us?

There are several methods for measuring TMAO
e.g. NMR based methods (Garcia et al 2017 Clin Biochem) with a detection limit of 3uM
For this you could try Susan Sumners lab at Chapel Hill
GC-MS (Bain et al 2004 Anal Biochem 334: 403-405) detection limit 6.6 uM
LC-MS (Awwad HM(1), Geisel J(2), Obeid R(3). J Chromatogr B Analyt Technol Biomed Life Sci. 2016 Dec 1;1038:12-18. doi: 10.1016/j.jchromb.2016.10.017.) detection limit 0.12 uMol/L
For the MS measurements then there are any number of commercial labs around the US but Susan Sumners Lab or the Metabolomics core at the Mayo clinic.
The world experts in TMAO, way before the work from the Hazens group are the Zeisel group at UNC Nutrition Research Institute.
This is a typcal LC-MS/MS application. I am planning to establish the method at some point in our lab, and it is not a very difficult task. If it is a good biomarker, that is another question....
