A large collection of E. coli strains with refernces, mostly of the K12 bachground. Used to be free of charge for non-profit user. Now there is a fee, but still cheaper than anywhere else.

It might have been donated by David M Gordon - who collects enteric bacteria from across Australia,

So, it was from David M Gordon. He was creating a diversity set of genomes from enterics, and this strain came from a black sort of passerine bird.
