We are trying to model the distribution of water hyacinth and its weevils. Records of the weevils' (both Neochetina eichhorniae and N. bruchi) distributions are proving very hard to come by.
Try first the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (www.gbif.org), I searched for Neochetina and 30 records came back. Some records were repetitive but at least GBIF gives the name of the museums for contact.
Thanks. We have tried GBIF, but will chase the museums. We need as many records across the full range of the weevils if possible. Records outside the native range where it has been introduced are not a problem. Home range records are thin on the ground.
