I'm looking for a good reference on phase transformations of polyethylene. What are the phases as a sample is heated from STP to melting point? I want to know the heat capacity in the different phases and whether the transitions are endo/exothermic.
The sample is LDPE, uncrosslinked with a fair degree of crystallinity (no exact number) as it is a proprietary grade. I appreciate any helpful references you can suggest.
I would suggest a review paper by prof. Strobl on the crystallization and melting of polymers (reference given below), including PE. It is a very good theoretical overview and I hope that you will find suitable references there that would help to solve your problem.
