Dear Nidal, I have a file cabinet where I deposit, in file folders, all ideas I deem worthy of research. I have a little notebook always in my purse, and whenever I think of something that could be part of any of the possible projects I already have in file, I make a note and when I get home, y put in the proper file. Every two or three months, I check how my folders have been expanding, full of little notes. I review all those folders and select something that seems more pertinent than others, and I start to give some formality to that project. I write a lot, and love to be exhaustive with bibliographic material needed for completing the research and start to write. If I am not methodic, I will probably never finish anything. I am lucky to have two Teaching Assistants at my university who can help me to locate necessary reading materials, etc. My problem is that I have too many transdisciplinary interests and files on them. Sometimes I go crazy and just pour a nice whiskey on ice and Perrier, or catch a plane and go on vacation... to buy books. My life is pretty regular, and I love to be systematic. It helps to round up projects that, otherwise, would never be completed.
Having a lot of research ideas is a great thing...the best way is to toss-up the ideas with others with mutual research interests. They may include colleagues within the same institution or outside. Another viable alternative is to get in touch with full-time PhD candidates who can spare time to take your ideas forward.
Exactly I have same problem. I have many research ideas and organized an international group. These ideas are related to computer science and specially software engineering. These area discuss current software engineering industry issues. I am in the search of some international R&D labs for sharing my ideas.
Great Lev D. Landau would say in this case:" You really need to solve only 20% of problems, but they must be the MAIN problems". If you like the Landau's interpretation please put a little green mark.
