Given the advancements in recent models from OpenAI, which solved olympiad-level math problems (Preprint Formal Mathematics Statement Curriculum Learning
), even though they were able to solve some problems, they have not yet mastered them completely. Some experts give a timeline of around 4-5 years based on current progress.
Currently, AI has made significant progress, but earning a PhD and publishing in top journals require specific skills that AI hasn't fully grasped yet. the truth is that these tools are similar to the beginning of computers to solve complex problems, but while these tools are powerful, they cannot solve problems independently without human analysis and modelling. Nevertheless, AI remains an essential and valuable tool.
From a technical point of view, this is currently not yet possible. Currently built by technology companies and made available on the Internet, AI-equipped information systems, Internet-based applications functioning as intelligent chatbots equipped with generative artificial intelligence are narrowly specialized to perform a certain type of activities, tasks, elaborations, automated generation of a certain type of works, including texts, documents, publications, graphics, photos, animations, videos, musical works, etc. Multifunctional autonomously functioning humanoid intelligent androids, which would be equipped with strong general artificial intelligence and creatively perform various types of activities just like humans, have not yet been built. But perhaps it is just a matter of time. In the future, when this kind of super intelligent autonomously acting and capable of performing various activities, tasks, commands, etc. androids will be able to be programmed to carry out a certain kind of profession, occupation. But is this what we want? Do we want intelligent robots similar in appearance and function to be built, which instead of us will carry out scientific research, develop the results of this research, publish these research results in scientific publications that they will write themselves, and make doctorates and professorships? Is this what we want, to be replaced by machines? I assume not. Technology should support us, including, among other things, in carrying out our scientific work, but it should not replace us. The issue of the possible replacement of even a selected type of work activity hitherto performed exclusively by humans for analogous activities performed by machines equipped with AI technology should be considered in terms of ethics, should be precisely regulated by law and AI technology used for this purpose should be properly tested and improved so that it does not generate more harm than good.
I described the key issues of opportunities and threats to the development of artificial intelligence technology in my article below:
OPPORTUNITIES AND THREATS TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE APPLICATIONS AND THE NEED FOR NORMATIVE REGULATION OF THIS DEVELOPMENT

I invite you to familiarize yourself with the issues described in the article given above and to cooperate scientifically on these issues.
