1) Theories in academics can better explained in industry.

2) It is better to learn prior to practically perform your operational function.

3) It is like reading a book and than see all those examples in Industry for example like how companies are doing JIT, TQM, Theory of Plan Behaviour (TPB) ---> Norms, Perceive ease of use and Perceive Usefulness leading to ---> Intention and Intention ---> Leading to a specific behaviour ....etc etc.....

4) Simply because Industry is offering more opportunities to those who have better knowledge, skills, talent, techniques etc etc. ...
