when i want to make an approach to reduce energy consumption in ZIgBee sensor in cognitive radio networks CRN . what is the layer in ZigBee sensor that i must worked in it ? Why ? and can i work in physical layer?

Energy consumption is effected with both physical and MAC layer operations , you need to figure it out the exact optimization of the existing operation you will work to reduce the energy for example a procedure that defines the status of the node (idle, in use, hibernating ).

Hi, Hadeel, I should do at last two things to reduce power consumption - to turn off the node and to measure not so often (for example turn on once in 5 min or more, depending of physical quantity that you measure) and to combine for example 10 measurements and to send them once to receiver.
