In Solar PV plant the inverter comes with MPPT feature, rather many customer do ask for MPPT feature in their Solar inverters. However When a Solar PV plant does not have battery storage do we need MPPT feature in inverters as MPPT will only match the most optimum voltage from PV module to battery voltage. If PV plant does not have battery storage then MPPT remains unused. So is it correct to ask for MPPT in solar inverters which do not have battery storage.
I think you are saying that MPPT is used to provide optimum voltage for battery charging. But it is not so. MPPT controller consist of a DC-DC converter that works like an impedance matching device in between the PV anf output circuit. According to maximum power transfer theorem, Maximum power from source circuit to load circuit takes place when the source impedance is equal to load impedance. So the MPPT is used to extract the maximum available power from PV

No, impedance matching is only for extraction of maximum power from the available PV output. Even if the battery storage is removed, MPPT is required.

The task of a Maximum Power Point Tracker (MPPTer) is to always operate the inverter on the maximum power point (MPP). The MPPT forces the solar inverter to work at maximum output voltage of the solar panel by varying the resistance of the inverter input using power electronics. The higher the resistance, the higher the voltage across the solar panel.
