Hi.

Nowadays, I am interested in the gene whose sequence and function was verified from some crops such as wheat and rice. I want to get the full sequence of the gene from a wild relative of wheat.

There is no database in this plant, so I designed the primer based on the conserved site in the wheat and other crops.

Soon, I may get the full sequence of the gene from my plant.

I will carry out qRT-PCR with the primer designed from the sequence I obtained and investigate the expression level before and after the treatment. Also, I will compare the sequence from my plant and that of wheat or other crops.

Is it enough to publish the article? Normally, people isolate some genes from new species, they transformed the gene into Arabidopsis, Yeast, or other plant. Can I publish the article to SCI or SCI-E journals without transformation experiments?
