We need both approaches (many times our knowledge and understanding of a social issue is not complete if one of the approaches is missing), we use them both (many times in the same research project) etc.

I wonder what do we have to gain from this split. Some could understand that one is more important than the other, "more" scientific, better, easier to accomplish etc.

From this year on I started to teach the social research methodology as a whole pointing on deductive and inductive logic of the research and showing the way to employ and combine them in every step of the research.

I wonder what do you think about it. Do you know authors who wrote about the idea of not splitting the social research methodology? I am not looking for the mixed-method approach - it also claims the splitting!
