Xlstat Add-Ins have two different kinds of the trend analysis...(MK and Seasonal MK).. what's the difference in the way of calculation? and what type of data should be an entry? (monthly or seasonally)?
The Seasonal test takes into account a seasonal component.
Monthly data would be appropriate for either.
So what's the difference in the interpretation between MK and seasonal MK?
I have all summer, all winter, all autumn and all spring data from 1900-2016. What statistical test is best to use, MK test or Seasonal MK test?
If there is a seasonal effect in the data, you should use the Seasonal test.
Thanks Salvatore. My data is not a complete year dataset with all seasons. Only the four months of winter precipitation has been extracted for every year from 1900 to 2016. Will the seasonal test work for such dataset?
How could i analyze the monthly data? i read some papers taking into consideration 12 periods (months) and others with 4 periods of 3 months (summer, autumn, winter,spring)? Could anyone give me some advice?
