Hey Guys! I am working on Total dissolution of HDPE geomembrane using high boiling solvents such as o-xylene in order to extract and analyze antioxidants in the geomembrane. The literature shows that after boiling the geomembrane using o-xylene at 130*C, methanol is added slowly while stirring. Is it because methanol solvates all the antioxidants or does methanol helps in precipitation of the geomembrane and hence helps in diffusion of the antioxidants out of the geomembrane. Thanks
