Term 'flashing' can often be met in epithermal papers, but I don't have a clear idea of it's mechanism and detailed process, could anyone give me an explanation? Thanks a lot in advance.
As I understand it. "flashing" means flashing to steam, or more simply boiling. As these shallow hydrothermal systems near the surface, pressure decreases and boiling (i.e. flashing) occurs. This near surface boiling is believed to be a trigger for precipitation of gold and other minerals.
