I am developing an open source GIS desktop application for agricultural purposes, I want some ideas about useful tools that can serve the end users. For example NDVI tools may be useful for them to recognize vegetation status in a study area.
Hi what is needed are tools to create field experiments (plot design etc). In the past there was a tool for Esri ArcView 3.2 available called "Enhanced Farm research Analyst" from University of Illinois. Something similar for QGIS would be great!
I would like the basins, waterhseds, extract field margin, flow accumulation, USLE and RUSLE equations, concentrated flow tools. Interested in drainage off ag fields.
In addition to land cover especially for integrated system including crops, trees, animals, etc. Suggestions on appropriate distribution of elements in the system and to simulate the expected yields can be really appreciated.
GIS is a tool itseft, since you can use it as a tool for agricultural decision in differences field of application, such as land use planning, agroeco system zoning, crop yield prediction, and event crop disease/pest warning, etc which should be combined with remote sensing as data sources and field validation. Webgis is also a good tool for developing a agricultural information system
