Hello all

There is a Calendria present at the bottom of a distillation column which is use to evaporate more lighters comparatively higher than the column bottom still. This Calendria has provision of dry steam injection to the process side from bottom. The distillation column is operating at very high vacuum of 1-2 mm-Hg and high temperature of 200 degC. The feed to Calendria is from distillation still.

I am curious to know the effect of addition of LP steam to the process side in the Calendria on our distillation column.

Another question is how to calculate the steam requirement for this process?

I am attaching the diagram of distillation column for your reference.

Thanks
