I am searching for a composite material which will be effective as like existing material used in Automobile drive shafts. I have to do FEA analysis using ANSYS 14.5 and submit a comparative report (existing vs proposed materials)
My task is to model a drive shaft which is present in our workshop and perform a FEA analysis for the same. Then I have to replace the material for the shaft and again perform the same analysis.
Can any one help me in selecting an appropriate material.
Mercedes Benz AMG SLS has a cardan shaft made of carbon fibre composite.

thanks for your support. Is there any special grade in carbon fibre that is suitable for drive shafts.
I do not have specification of the carbon fibre for the AMG SLS - sorry. There are some companies, which offer carbon fibre composite parts for automotive drivetrain, e.g. for racing cars. You could try to contact an expert there, e.g.:

combination of chemical ,physical and carbon fibre material is best composition part.
Well, in ANSYS, there are many built materials especially in workbench mode. You may try them and then suggest which one is better.
