While doing 2D simulation of underexposed and over-expanded supersonic jets my results is getting converged with low NPRs (2-4) with choosing Zero Supersonic/Initial Gauge Pressure at the inlet of nozzle in the Fluent solver. But it get diverged with high NPRs (4-10) value. However results are converging when putting nearer value of Supersonic/Initial Gauge Pressure to inlet nozzle pressure. Kindly help me to resolve this problem ?
Dear sir, I am Gangadhar. Pursuing undergraduate. I am trying to simulate the supersonic flow and shock location capturing inside the convergent divergent nozzle. You have asked a question few years back, i.e., what are 'Gauge Total pressure' and 'supersonic/initial gauge pressure' ? we want to know the answer from your experience. What I understood is, if we set NPR 4 and exit pressure is 101325 then absolute pressure is (4*101325) but the gauge total pressure is ( 4*101325 - 101325). Is it correct sir? Kindly help us.
