I have a calorifier at basement level and I need to supply hot water from the calorifier to the user end at a height of 20m. The outlet pressure of water at the user end should be no lesser than 3 bar. Should I consider a pump to supply the hot water? In case I consider a pump to draw water from the calorifier unit will negative suction occur inside the calorifier? How can I overcome this problem?
What you mean by "calorifier" ?: a HOT WATER HEATER, a BOILER ?
Calorifier in the above question is just a hot water heater. The Calorifier Tank just engages in the Heat exchange between two fluids through a series of Helical coil heat exchangers.
Then, you can use an inexpensive centrifugal pump (of the type employed in heating house systems) that should give a pressure head of, at least, 50 meters of water (about 5 bars). Because of the height of the user end and the fact that your pump is located in the basement, you should not worry about cavitation (negative suction) before the pump.
