In this case basal does is totally wastage specially n case of rice cultivation how will it effect if we planted little earlier so that it will grow well during time of heavy monsoon as we all now that nutrient is blood of land but early it is wasting and farmer are buying fertilizer at high cost.🙄🙄

Depends on which nutrients are running away during the monsoon.

If it is nitrogen, then leaving more organic matter will help that loss. What you do with the bones of animals you consume, makes a huge difference in the amount of calcium and phosphorus you can return to the soil.

Also, interplanting legume crop that have been inoculated with nitrogen producing bacteria, will be very helpful.

Plus, everyone should build a composting toilet, so human waste can be safely returned to the fields, will help complete the nutrient cycle.

In my opinion, We need to manage two-component

1.Irrigation infrastructure(Canal) and water reservoir(Ponds) which controls the unnecessary flow into Ag Field.

2.Increasing the Organic manure application will also help up to a certain extent in reducing Leaching, Flooding of nutrients as the Complex carbon structure of organic matters binds nutrient particle and decrease ionic slubility which helps in nutrient conservation!

There can never be the best method. But the following measures can reduce the impact.

- Managing good drainage channels so that the water doesn't sweep away much of the topsoil.

- Use cover crops

- Use reduced tillage to maintain the soil structure

- Cultivate the varieties that are flood-tolerant in the right density to ensure the proper binding of soil particles by roots

- Amend the soil with different humic substances that bind the soil nutrients

- Do not leave the land barren during the heavy rain seasons. Avoid heavy tillage in such times and use a cropping system that can sustain with minimum tillage having adequate BCR.
