The Deccan Trap eruption covers an area of 0.4 million square kilometers. These eruptions are responsible for the extinctions of dinosaurs in India. I am eagerly waiting to know the sources of these vast eruptions.
Experts believe that the rapidly moving Indian subcontinent over the Reunion hotspot resulted in vast outpouring of lava stretching from western to eastern India producing Large Igneous Province (LIP) of Deccan fllood Basalt (ca. 66 Ma ago).
Kindly refrain from taking harbourage in a false propaganda that Deccan volcanism induced environmental change was responsible for the most spectacular Mass Extinction and the demise of not only Indian but global dinosaurs. Good thoughts and sound reasoning would help us inch towards the truth.
Be advised to look at my comments in papers of Jahnvi Punekar and Gerta Keller at ResearcgGate on similar themes.

(2015). A multiproxy approach..etc. and this paper attracted my attention, obviously for the meticulously worked out sections and fanciful graphic depiction of valuable data of precision and fine stratigraphic resolution from K-Pg boundary. But unfortunately, both the papers lack a plausible hypothesis which could withstand the criticism. The social media and speed at which such inadequately ripe matters are published and spread makes such ideas injurious to the upcoming younger geoscientists. In my humble opinion, this can be branded, as psychologists say: “The Hasty Generalization Fallacy and The Correlation/Causation Fallacy.”It must be firmly registered that Catastrophism, like Extraterrestrial Impact on planet earth or episodes of Large Igneous Provinces like Deccan Flood Basalt can never cause biotic turnovers (extinction and origination of species) including Mass Extinctions either directly or indirectly by inducing global climatic deterioration, affecting shallow to deep sea, low to high latitude terrestrial fauna and flora. Only local damage can be allowed at the site of Catastrophism. The sensational publication of a Father-Son duo (Alvarez et al.1980) nearly four decades ago claiming that Impact hypothesis is responsible for K-Pg boundary and perhaps other four Mass extinction
