Fraternal correction was taught by Jesus to his brothers, sisters and disciples. The politically correct is other view for the political behaviour of the citizens.
Excelent question, Dear Mariano. Be politically correct may not exclude (explicitly or implicitly) the fraternal correction. Human development is still limited. Thus, is better both, but it may require a great effort and some intelligence, and it may be not always possible. Fraternal correction is ultimately preferable, but, even with all our efforts, may be not possible. Remember that Jesus Christ was crucified.
The fact that Christ was crucified is just one more example of the fraternal love. If Christianity had other sources of solution which was not by love, Christ would not have died. If were not by the sacrifice of Christ, love would not prevail, according to Christianity teachings.
Clearly politically correct impositions are first acts as they are something that might existed since the emergence of the human species as a group, a conception which is vital to the welfare of the group and its continued positive existence while the teachings of Jesus are two thousand years old. They both are vital and authentic in their own rights for purposes of goodness.
I vote for the fraternal correction because 1. this is the traditionally and logically right way for human relationships 2. I am a Roman Catholic believer.
András, the fraternal correction is in private in the first phase and can conclude in it. So, it is possible they implemeted it but none knows it except the corrected one. I am a Roman Catholic believer too.
First and authentic correction is the fraternal correction! Do it with love!
The fraternal correction is gravely obligated only when all the following conditions are met (be sure to be honest with yourself in applying these – no excuse-making!):
I. Is it serious? – “The delinquency to be corrected or prevented is a grievous one.”
2. Will it resolve itself? – “There is no good reason to believe that the sinner will adequately provide for himself.”
3. Will it be effective? – “There is a well-founded expectation that the admonition will be heeded.”
4. Do you have the best shot at getting the point across? – “There is no one else just as well fitted for this work of Christian charity and likely to undertake it.”
5. Is this the foxhole you want to die in? – “There is no special trouble or disadvantage accruing to the reformer as a result of his zeal.”
Dear Qasim, for extension love, honesty, justice, forgiveness and humility are present in a "fraternal correction", but this has got a specific content for the Christians who believe in Jesus as true man and God and his word which is eternal as himself said and gave proofs to believe in him.
When we are pushed beyond the margins of human law and the demands of divine law, then morality and sound reason require action, lest we slip into collusion by omission and avoidance.
It is politically correct, for example, to accept civil laws which attempts against the human life, as the abortion. But if we forget the common well (well for all ones) in our societies and make laws against the men, women, childrens, etc. the future will be uncertain for us and all ones.
The forgiveness in the fraternal correction must be present when there is repentance of the committed sin. This forgiveness is of the brother to the corrected one when this one is repented. God can forgive or not the sinner for his/her sin when He likes it.
A point which is not always clear: there is right things. The correction guides to the right things for all the brothers and sisters. The right things are the commandments and advices of God, Jesus and the Church where the Holy Spirit inhabits.
'Political correctness is a return to the past, when it was believed that man was essentially good. But man is fundamentally evil.' (Pedro Bial - Brazilian journalist and poet)

The term "politically correct" was used disparagingly, to refer to someone whose loyalty to the CP line overrode compassion, and led to bad politics. It was used by Socialists against Communists, and was meant to separate out Socialists who believed in egalitarian moral ideas from dogmatic Communists who would advocate and defend party positions regardless of their moral substance.

The true fraternal correction is practiced between brothers in the faith, brothers of Jesus. Jesus explained who is his mother and his brother: "My mother and my brothers are who heard the word of God and put it for act". It is not sufficient to heard the word of God, as St. James explains in his letter in the Bible, but moreover to compliment it. Otherwise, we would deceive to ourselves. He said: "Who knows to do the well and does not do it, sins".
Fraternal correction is to give our persons (our wisdom and intelligence) for the will of God and his word with our brothers in the faith for their and our well.
Dear Fateh, love is solution for the convivence, imposition is convenience of mandataries. Imposition is not fraternal. The respect to the persons is primordial.
Dear Fateh, the problem arises when one respects to the others (1st) but other does not respect to one (2nd). A good Catholic would do the first thing because he/she loves to God and the neighbour.
Fraternal correction can be a way of salvation for our brothers and sisters, and for oneself. But the important thing for this correction is want to be brother or sister of Jesus, hearing the God word and put it in practice. This is an ethernal way of salvation.
A possible consequence of a fraternal correction is in finishing the corrected one out of the fraternity if he/she does not accept the successive corrections arriving to the community his/her inchanged sins. Out of the Christian community as a pagan or publican, when it is not accepted the correction of the community.
Jesus answered, "Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?" Then he pointed to his disciples and said, "Look! Here are my mother and my brothers. Whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is for me brother, sister, or mother."
(Jesus:) "If your brother or sister has sinned against you, go and point out the fault when the two of you are in private, and if he listens to you, you have won your brother. If you are not listened to, take with you one or two others so that the case may be decided by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If he still refuses to listen to them, tell it to the assembled Church. But if he does not listen to the Church, then regard such a one as a pagan or a publican".
Dear Subhash, Matthew 18,15-17 is the reference of the fraternal correction for the Jesus followers. Other references of it are about the forgiveness to the brother/sister whem there is repentance of his/her sins in him/her.
The politically correct is usually an ideologized vision that politicians treate of imposing to all the population of citizens. But apply an blind idea over persons without respecting them is usually a totalitarism.
The fraternal correction is near and warm. The politically correct is distant and cool. With the first we help neighbours, with the last someones treate of dominate peoples.
How can be corrected people like Andres Breivik https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anders_Behring_Breivik or the assassins in Paris or in Munich? Another questions: How much is the rate of such people in the population? Regarding that people are born innocent how they regressed to such monsters?
I think in the politicians who defend abortion laws... they seem to be monsters of the last times. In other times these monsters were terrible, but in our days the new monsters appear in all the TV as popular persons. This is more terrible.
Politically correctness is the exact contrary of fraternal correction. The basic idea behind politically correctness is that persons are not each other in fraternal links : they normally cultivate hate one against the other because they are constrained inside a monodimensional category (i.e. homosexual, islamic, catholic, white..) armed each against the other. The only way not to struggle is to avoid any real interaction, to do so we use a false language (analogous to Orwell's newspoke) devoid of any link with truth.
If we think of the meaning of the term PERSON we discover that comes from the Latin:
Per-se-una, that literally means: unique (una) by (oer) itself (se) so intending the unicity of each person and thus the fallacy of any reduction of a person to a member of a category (that by definition comprises more then one member).
On the contrary the unique character of a person derives from his/her particular configuration and blend of infinite categories he/she has a fuzzy membership without any hope to be fully defined by any of them. Thus I am in the same time: a male, a catholic, a roman, a brother, a son, a poetry lover, a scientist, a father, a driver, a player, a husband, a tax payer, a swimmer, a cyclist, a trekking lover, a philosopher, a smoker, a lower back pain patient, a soccer fan......
The politically correctness is simply anti-human because its goal is to cancel the unicity of the persons...
The fratenal correction is the more sensible and charitable action to correct to other person, but this procedure of correction must be incardined in all the revelation of Jesus and his teachings. Thank you.
In fraternal correction both ones are sincere. In politically correct the sincerity is reducted to some limited forms, but not in the essences of behaviours.
Fraternal correction is more authentic because it is a sample of love to brothers and sisters, while the politically correct is formalism to control citizens.
I prefer a world of brothers to a world of controlled citizens from politic powers. But I do not believe in anarchy and do not believe in ferreous vigilance in all personal life activity.
Fraternal correction must be kind and serious, in a private place. Pollitically correct is what it must showed publicly the people since external instances.
If love to your neighbour is not authentic, what is it authentic? The fraternal correction is to love neighbours helping them in the correct way sincere and fraternally.
Nor of being afraid to be politically incorrect. But correcting others is really hard , because there is a danger of falling into sin ourselves. In order to correct another, we really have to purify ourselves and our intentions first.
Yes, Ahmed, it is an expecting requirement to do a fraternal correction to be free of sin, at least to be free of the sin which one corrects. This is to be sincere in the fraternal correction.
If you do not have any good thing to teach to others, you should not correct to anyone. First one must practice the good fact, and then to teach to others.
Jesus taught the fraternal correction as a way for his salvation to the men. He did not have aspirations in the politic powers of his times, but he liked to give the best of him to disciples and their eternal salvation.
The fraternal correction is practiced with correction and appropriately into the Catholic church. Other sucedaneous for imitation should not call fraternal correction because it would not be such thing.
Fraternal help is between brothers, fraternal correction is between brothers, sisters and mother of Jesus, that is to say, who believe in Jesus and God and put in practice his words and commandments.
