Currently, I am studying the possibility to manufacture PLA-lignin film. To represent the information in an appropriate way I decided to create a technical scheme of the process. For this reason, I need to know the exact amount of all components. I have already created almost all parts of the scheme except the last part: PLA synthesis from lactide by ring-opening polymerization.

I have found a lot of articles and patents related to the topic I am looking for. Most of these articles have the main idea: take your lactide, combine with catalase + initiator, heat this solution, and then dissolve PLA in chloroform and precipitated in methanol, then dry. But there is no information about the volume of chloroform or methanol.

Maybe someone knows the precise volume of chloroform needed to dissolve PLA and methanol needed to precipitate PLA?
