Applied research is more dynamic!
basic research is the basis of knowledge!
It all depends upon the problem! Personally, I prefer quantitative analysis based on measurements, i.e. applied research.

Applied research is very useful because this aspect is sustainable and has a wide scope at diffrrent aspects and fields like biochemistry, forestry (agroforestry, reforestation, aforestation and biodiversity consevation), medicines and also in agriculture etc.
I think the research is two types: theoretical and applied. For me, I prefer applied research

Our country is trying to develop more and more, so, we need to solve the certain problems (Electricity, Education, Agriculture,...) by the applied research.

I prefer to determine the type of research e.g. quantitative / qualitative / mixed method etc. based on the research problem in hand to be addressed.
I prefer Theoretical research , particularly those that do not require much more than pen and paper, and a computing platform to run the ocassional numerical simulations.
I prefer an applied research that can be implemented in practice.
Real-world Research
An existing problem is identified.
Its relevance from various angles is studied.
Priority for research is ascertained.
Looks at competing solutions.
Systematic study and research using standard as well as innovative approaches.

Theoretical research is necessary to understand any problem...
Applied research is also necessary to increase understanding of any problem..
Field and applied agricultural research and advanced laboratory detection are the best, integrated and are preferred
