What type of communication technology(ies) will be suitable for a protection scheme which takes the protective decision by using the fault-data after occurrence of a fault, under which it first sends the faulted data to a central controller via communication links and then after processing the data, it sends the appropriate commands to the protective devices via links. For such kind of protection, a fast communication technology will be required for a large distribution system to clear the fault quickly without adding the unnecessary delays in the protection.
Is there is any good paper(s) which can explain the working of different centralized communication technologies/structures suitable for the protection of the distribution system with DGs?

I think some ideas from the Routing Protocol RPL can help you (see my picture). DODAG at RPL is a centralized, reconfigurable system and would conform to their system.

Similar to the RPL, you can define and prioritize multiple routes for each node (site) to the central node (General Directorate). Should the best route between node X and central node Y fail, the communication between X and Y can be redirected to a replacement route. In this way you achieve a reconfiguration capability in your distributed system and thus fault tolerance.
