I am currently using Matlab Neural Network Toolbox and would be interested are there some alternatives available. Which tool do you prefer using in research and which to use in lectures?
It seems interesting the ENCOG and NEUROTH when I choose the modeling package. But I look only the packages witch generate Java code as a result. ENCOG also generate C++ / C# code and has GPU support.
Matlab is the best one for both research and during lectures. Besides, I often use NeuroSolutions 5, too. The former is ideal for code development and It also has user-friendly package for non-programmer. The later uses excell's like spreadsheet and is ideal for non-programmers. Both have linking many options with GA, etc. and support various ANN (supervised as well as unsupervised) training algorithms.
