I found a published paper online (attached here) that bears mine and colleague's names as authors but the paper doesn't belong to us. The work was claimed to be carried out in Kenya. We are in Nigeria and never visited Kenya nor conducted any research there. Moreover, we are given FALSE Kenya affiliations. I MAILED THE PUBLISHER THEY CAN'T GIVE ME ANY EXPLANATIONS.
@Saswatik.... I don't think it's someone else with same name. In fact, it has both my name and my colleague's as authors (our full names including unique native names which you can't find in Kenya). It can't be a coincidence
Hi, contact the publisher and the editor of the journal and 8nfirm them about the situation.
if you believe your names are illegally used then asked for suppression of the article.

Such problem arises at times. I simply indicate that "It is not my paper.

Thanks for your answer. I have emailed the editor and he couldn't give me a convincing explanation. He simply replied that it's not my paper. But no explanation why my full name and that of my colleague are there. I also noticed email address and phone number of the corresponding author, which normally should be on the paper, are not there. They only picked our names and that's all.
Felix Nwafor this is disturbing to read. I observed that it is a two persons authored article and you have just confirmed that you know the second author in person and he did not submit this article (he is listed as the corresponding author). So I would assume that, this is certainly not a mistake. Kindly consider writing the Chief Editor of the journal and ask them to withdraw the article.

Ekene Chosen Obih Thanks for your suggestion. Actually I have asked the EDITOR to take the paper down but no response. Well, I think they were trying to advertise their journal by populating it with fake articles. The journal was launched last year, so, it's not surprising, but then people should stay away from them!
