I have a number of different situations. on each situation, I am asking the respondents (different gender and other demographic characteristics) to mark their satisfaction on an ordinal scale (likert 1 to 5). What different tests should I conduct (and how to conduct) to check if their is any difference in responses for different situations.
Please provide links also to conduct tests in SPSS or Minitab.

It's hard to understand your design fully enough, but it seems you need the independent-samples t-test or two-way ANOVA (depending on what is important for you). But it also depends on some characteristics of your data (and it can be you will need The Mann-Whitney U test, for example).
I would recommend Laerd Statistic website for more detailed explanations (it includes steps to take in each situation)
Although one could use linear regression, given that the outcome is ordinal (Likert scale), it would be better to use ordinal regression.
