I am currently writing my thesis on parental denial of students with special needs. It's primary audience is parents and counselors and what factors contribute to their initial denial and rejection of their child's needs. It focuses on the parent's needs throughout the process of going through denial and their emotional state. Can anyone recommend any survey or questionnaire I can use?
Mool Raj , Caroline Chioquetta Lorenset gave a good suggestion. I did a narrative study on the blind or visually impaired. It is an up hill battle for people with any form of disability. Both for parent, child and adult.
Hmmm, I'm trying to answer this carefully. I did my study on individuals with special needs and I have never found a parent who rejected service or accepted poor service for their child's special needs. It was always the opposite. The complaint of what their children did not. If you cannot find an instrument, you can always create one if you have the time and patience. Sounds like an excellent study if you can find the population.
However your object of research demmands care and attention, I recommend you to take a further look on Narrative Inquiry. It is a method of research that intends to know more about a person's opinion, state of mind, feelings and emotions, background and previous experiences. It is a qualitative approach that has helped me when investigating about motivation processes in learners of a foreign language.

I think that you can use parenting style test that you study about it first and find the Questionares in suitable style of your research and adjust it by yourself. Because you know well in your sample group. Ok thanks for your question.
