What styles of wrestling were practised in Shropshire, England in 18-19th centuries?

In her novel "Precious Bane", Mary Webb writes about a wrestling match, however there is no longer any form of traditional wrestling in Shropshire and information about 19th century styles seems non-existent. Was it similar the Cumbrian wrestling or more like "loose hold" styles of the West Country.
