Many startup almost 70 percent die in the first year of their establishment. In developing countries the situation could be even worse. One potential solution has been to resort to donor funds as a mechanism to fuel growth of startups in developing countries. Several issues arise:

i) sustainability (survival after the end of funding)

ii) convertibility (donor money into capital)

iii) conditionalities (compatibility of startup ideas to conditions attached to funding)
