The Bulbul des Glorieuses has been the subject of several publications since its rediscovery in the year 2000. It has not been integrated into molecular research on Hypsipetes in the region (Warren & Al., 2005). Several recent reports are relaunching the discussion on its endemicity. Its small relict population surviving on an island of 6 km2 makes it the rarest Pycnonotidae in the world. Can we consider it endemic to the island ?

Yes, Prishnee, indeed, I published 8 notes on this species regularly forgotten in the regional syntheses. It must be said that many ornithologists went there without rediscovering it. And then its population on the verge of extinction, in an area of less than 6km2 is quite amazing. This makes it the rarest Pycnonotidae in the world. Finally, thanks to Research Gate, these rediscoveries of extinct species or the new mentions in the islands will be available to the greatest number. For the moment, on Research Gate, I am half of my new mentions discovered in the Mascarenes or the scattered islands of the Indian Ocean. I will put the paper requested late afternoon.
