We have NDVI obtained from : a) satellite image b) UVA c) Ground data.. Now we need to make a comparison for these three. What statistical methods can be followed for the comparison?
Generally, comparison is made to know the accuracy among the different sensor-based NDVI. However, we know that the handheld device (Ground Truth) provides the most accurate NDVI value which can be used as the reference for the UAV based and satellite-based NDVI. You can compare two different wavelengths of satellite image i.e. NIR and RED in the scatterplot and its statistics can be used to compare UAV’s statistics. As spatial resolution will vary for all the mentioned sensors, therefore, you can take the mean NDVI value of many ground truth points (mean of NDVI pixels in case of UAV) of an area to compare it with satellite-based NDVI of the same area. I hope this will be helpful.
You could use the ground data as a control to check the results accuracy of the NDVI and the UAV. Additionally, you should do a statistical correlation among the three methods using at least 40 georeferenced points (ground data, NDVI, and UAV image). So, the higher correlation coefficient with the ground data, the higher accuracy.
