We have this soil sediment from intertidal zone and subjected to harvesting of marine nematodes. Using baerman method, we are able to collect nematodes and we found several minute species like euglena and paramecium. Interestingly, we found this nematode-like species crawling at the bottom of the petri dish. It looks like marine nematode with hollow space but it can stretch.
I was curious to know what kind of species it is, so I decided to take one sample for preservation and eventually for identification. But, every time I pick the specimen, it always dissociate when it is returned to the water after exposure to mid air. We have a video for your reference. Hoped you can enlighten us. Thank you.
