Dear, Maribel do you want to use column chromatography to separate fractions of your extract ? Then use a suitable solvents as mobile phase. You can experiment TLC of the extarct using different solvent in different ratio. i used column chromatography for my plant extract Duabanga grandiflora. For my plant extract , Different combinations of n-hexane, ethyl acetate and chloroform were used to develop TLC chromatograms of ethanol extract of D. grandiflora leaves. From the developed chromatograms, it was found that n-hexane: ethyl acetate (9:1) ratio was best as mobile phase. This solvent system was used as mobile phase for the column chromatography to separate fractions. you can approach to separate fractions in this way. Hope this will be effective for you.

firstly you have extracted with very polar solvent, if you want separate the components from this extract, following the Tania's procedure, but the best technique is MPLC chromatography.
Another and simple way, from beginning, before methanol start from non-polar solvents, n-hexane or petroleum ether , then ethyl acetate, methanol and finally with 70% methanol. Take TLC, separate, identify using spectroscopic methods
I don't think this question is well asked. With what I understood from your question, I will advice that you used a highly volatile separating mixture technique Which is Tin Layer Chromatography.

Algae contains a vast array of biologically active compounds. Sucessesive fractination of methanolic extracts, will be the best choise
