Hi all , I want to grew francisella in any media that doesnot contain animal bi-products , I usualy use cystein heart agar with adding 2% of bovine haemoglobin , but uregently I want to grow with different media that didnot contain the bovine HG. any recommendations ??
I previously worked with Francisella novicida. At the top of my head, it grow well in LB supplemented with Cystein 2%.

cause i used modified muller hinton broth with sugar and isovitalex but my main problem with the agar medium .
iam working mainly of francisella of fish .

At least LB broth works for growing F. novicida if supplemented with 2% Cystein. I don't remember for LB Agar! There is also a way to grow it on chocolate agar (CA) but I don't know much more about it.
I don't know if this is going to work with your particular strain. Do you have more information to provide about it? This may help other researchers to answer your question.
