I have a wire rod of FeCrAl alloy and after wire drawing, I need to anneal of this alloy and neet to temperature range for anneal (%20-23,5Cr-%5Al)?
I am trying to produce resistance wire so I have much information but I need more.
Dear Abdulwahab, in order to give high temperature protection against oxidation and corrosion to FeCrAl stainless steel , aluminide coating is widely used as a coating method. Where high temperature heat treatment about 750 C is applied normally for long periodsi typically 6-30 hrs. This can fatally degrade the mechanical properties of the alloy steel as a results of microstructure changes associated with the grain coarsening and carbide precipitation. Therefore in order to achieve stress relieve in deformed sample one should select isothermal annealing temperature below 750 C and much shorter annealing times the then reported value above, in the range of few hours.
Annealing temperature should be in the range of recrystallization temperature which is mostly in the range of 0.5 T melting about 900 K. for steel=650 C.
For the most steel 500-800 C range is used, which increases the carbide precipitates at the grain boundaries. Stress has adverse affects on the precipitations by enhancing the formation along deformation slip line or bands.
If I were you I would organize few experiments to get the optimal TT values. BEST LUCK

I am very suprised by your comment. My PhD thesis deals with high-Cr ferritic steels, not with FeCrAl-alloys. Mr. Abdulwahab Benhadji will definitely not find any usefull information about annealing of FeCrAl alloys in my thesis.

Right now I am really confused; I was thinking that I know what my PhD thesis is about.
The main subject of my thesis is lifetime prediction of Cr-forming ferritic steels and for this purpose I am using similar lifetime prediction model that was previously used for alumina formers. I am describing this model in the literature part of my thesis.
Actually, I do not find any other references to FeCrAl alloys especially in the results and discussion part of my thesis. Please show me at least one page in my thesis where I (as you have written) compare my alloy to FeCrAl.
Anyway, the question of Mr. Abdulwahab Benhadji was clear: “What should be the temperature range for annealing to FeCrAl alloy (%20-23,5Cr-%5Al)”? And again, you will definitely not find any useful information about this subject in my thesis.

Some articles says, "Bright Annealing" for stainless steel at 1400C but some article says at 800-900C, so I am really confused!
