if I am generating 1000, 160 bit key sequences using Hash function, if they are 160 bit binary, what whould be the input type I should select in the last step? Ascii or Binary ?
In what case i should select the Ascii option?
can any one share me the sample input files?
I am taking binary output of 160 bits from Hash function instead of hex. My NIST suit is not working on selecting binary option, gives overflow error, and works well with ASCII option. Is it the correct way I am going?
Hello Devi,
Do you write your hash function output to a file and then feed it to the NIST suite? In such a case I guess you should select ASCII if you write 0 and 1 in a text (ASCII) format, which will usually be the case. For example something like this
0101010101
1111001011
0000111110
are 10 bit sequences written in ASCII format.
