I want to induce thrombocytopenia in rat to study the effect of my project formulation so please suggest me at what dose of aspirin platelet will be reduced in wistar rat. or suggest me any other drug that will induce thrmobocytopenia in rat.
Aspirin won't lead to thrombocytopenia. It will decrease the ability of the platelets to aggregate by preventing the conversion of arachidonic acid to transaxemic acid by binding to cyclooxygenase.
There are other ways to reducing the aggregation of platelets which I won't get in to.
If you need thrombocytopenai, the most common form the drug-induced thrombocytopenia is by using heparin (can lead to formation of auto-antibodies). Though a lot of drugs will have the side-effect of thrombocytopenia.
