Normally the faculty members have 60 minutes of lecture in Engineering and 90 minutes in Management.
To make the environment productive, I have designed several innovative steps that I am sharing with you today
1. The first and foremost aspect that is ensured is to go for recapitulate the content of the last lecture as I believe the students who were absent in last lecture must be attending today's lecture and those who had attended lecture must have forgotten. This exercise fetches me lot of cooperation from the students. If required difficult part is again explained.
2. The second aspect is that concentration of the students in the class can be for maximum 20-25 minutes. This study has been proved by Psychologists. After 20-25 minutes a lighter environment will be created for which per-thinking has been done. After 5 minutes the train is again brought on the tract.
At least 2-3 good jokes/tales/good stanza/food thought brings good results. The students if given continuous heavy dosage they will not be able to show the results.
3. Brief note is supplied to them so that the students are interactive in my lecture.
4.Video and AV presentation are important features of my teaching.No slide has picture of what is to be delivered.
5. While solving numerical, the steps are written on the power point slide and those steps are explained till each of the student has understood. Then few such similar numerical are solved in the class and assignment is given based on such numerical.
6.Teaching with smiling face, helps me reciprocation from my students. 7.Discipline is observed by me.- No discussion among students without my permission, no entry to late comers, no entry to students without assignment (home work) submission etc.
8.Leaving the class while interacting on issues important for them other than studies like co curricular activities etc help build reputation.

Most important is how we consistently deliver the lecture systematically and behave with the students play important role. In India it is difficult to manage students discipline in the class
I believe in active learning. If an instructor talks, content is delivered, but we do not know if it is received. Students can loose attention quickly, and then they will not follow or receive the content. Active learning holds student attention as they have to pay attention to do activities. The easiest way to do active learning is through discussions, and the easiest way to combine content delivery with discussion is to ask questions frequently. It does not have to be a long discussion, because students wake up when they need to respond to a question.
The routine of productive classroom environment depends upon the pedagogical method to be employed by the teacher and the learners who are the other end of teaching learning process. So, analyzing the content and target group, designing the teaching learning mechanism, developing learning strategies and feedback mechanism decides the nature of productive classroom environment rather than an absolute sense of deciding routine.
Engaging students is the key. Using polls and other interactive tools are useful, even you can create an opportunity for risk free competition, there is no chance to be harmed. The same routine could be followed without the the modern tools, simply assigning projects and being an advisor, moderate discussions in the small groups and participate in the problem solving process.
Measuring the level of knowledge by low stake quizzes help the students to understand their knowledge and the use of the learned material. Inviting successful external (industrial) lecturers could connect the study area to the real world.
As whole by using the appropriate use of latest technology and that to guide the students in a proper way. Feel the individual differences to go deeply and treat accordingly definitely will contribute more
Diversifying the teaching strategies that you use with your students will break the boring routine of many students who are dictated by the traditional teaching method. The traditional way is based on a key role for the teacher, and the role of the student is overlooked as an actor in the learning process. That the student is the main focus of the process of learning and education, and must have a greater role in the process
Successful classes maintain a balance between routine and excitement to build psychological security while keeping the Limbic system activated. Any routine is a good routine if it:
establishes a calm readiness for learning something new.
I am a big fan of interaction , I would tell them , tell anything you feel like (not personal that behind my back :) ) . So encourage them to open up and say stuff -no judgment ...

Part of these routines is guessing the reaction towards giving the lecture by asking the students if they understand then performing QUIZZES ( SUDDEN EXAMS.) .
Inspire students to seek greater depth and breadth in the subject you are teaching. It is the teacher's primary responsibility and involves preparation and dedication.
I believe that the type of verbal interaction, the type of mental activities, the learner's roles within the classroom, and the nature of the physical environment of the classroom, if properly prepared, will contribute to creating a productive classroom environment.
