The hypothalamus produces TSH Releasing Hormone (TRH) that signals the pituitary to tell the thyroid gland to produce more or less of T3 and T4 by either increasing or decreasing the release of a hormone called thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH).
Basically, Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) send signals to the pituitary to tell the thyroid gland to produce more or less of T3 and T4 . There is an inverse relationship between T3, T4 and TSH. When TSH is low, T3 and T4 will be high and when TSH is high, T3 and T4 will be low.
