I just built a Faraday rotation setup for measurements in the visible range. I want to measure Faraday rotation spectra (wavelength dependance) of magneto-plasmonic nanocomposites. As the my sample are very thin, the rotation involved is very small so I would like to check the performances of the setup with a well known material.
I thought that water could be a good reference, I can measure it in a quartz cuvette for example.
Are there any good material easily available? Do you know papers with Faraday rotation spectra data?

Hi Elie,
about 30 years ago I bought a nice Faraday rotator rod from Hoya-Optics; it may be FR-5 or FR-4; but I cannot find a Hoya catalogue for Faraday rotator glasses in the internet yet.
Alternatively you may look at the link, which guides you to another supplier/manufacturer of magneto optical rotator glasses.
But there are some other manufacturers of such rotator materials too in the internet.
