This is one of my primary research interests. There's very little research studying teachers' psychological factors and how they relate to teacher efficacy and performance. Most research focuses on psychological factors that impair performance, such as emotional stress. Check out the attached article. Like Patricia, I am very interested in teacher's professional learning (as opposed to professional development). With my colleague Robyn Henderson we take a broader sociological perspective and fram our work with a model of workforce capacity building.
