Hello Olena Yarys, Maybe twenty years ago I was at a workplace that used Mapinfo. Somewhere I have a book, not sure where it is. I looked at the book, but didn't use it to any great degree at the workplace.
Depends of what you mean by 'maps' - just 'cartography' ( graphics for some sort of visualization or illustration, and/or 'analysis' ( transforming data from some source(s).
