There is a method of determination of the energy of the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction by a measurement of the velocity of domain walls in a combination of perpendicular and planar magnetic fields. Since the range of the investigated velocities may be quite large and velocities may reach several m/s in the depinning regime the only way is to apply magnetic field for a short period of time. Our standard Kepco BOP 100 V - 4 A power supply with rather large coil give pulses with rise time of 2 ms and maximal magnetic field of 550 Oe. Probably someone who performed such measurements may advice me the model of power supply which I need for such measurements. And I will be grateful for any experience or advices about what induction coil will be the best suited for this experiment. I guess that it should have the less number of turns as possible to decrease an induction. However, the coil must give large magnetic fields (up to 1000 Oe). My aim is a decreasing the rising time by 3 orders to several microseconds.
