Many of the academically brilliant students fail to fetch a job from the competitive market as they lack soft skills. Our current educational system doesn’t give adequate emphasis on soft skills. So what percentage of weightage should be given in acquiring soft skills in general higher education for helping students to make them employabl?
Soft skills are non-technical, hence importance of soft skills in building a successful career has been more on the non-existent side. The current system doesn't provide any scope for indulging in a student's communication skills, listening skills, adaptability, time management or critical thinking, which truly makes an employee more vigilant and suitable for job market. There should be equal importance given on both technical and non-technical aspects of employability as both go hand in hand.
